Tai Chi is a very old Chinese martial art system that deals with internal energy and strengthening the bodies internal system.
Some have called it Yoga in motion. Tai Chi is performed very slowly but because of its emphasis on slow motion, it is very effective in a fight situation because the practitioner has perfected each and every move over and over again, and so the strikes and kicks are performed with precision and timing.
Tai Chi helps develop flexibility in the body and this works as an anti ageing exercise, one often sees older people practising it in parks in China. Even the young can make use of their natural flexibility to learn Tai Chi and thereby slow down the ageing process. At GDSMA, we build the students flexibility and hand/leg coordination before focusing on Tai Chi forms.
