Qigong (Pronounced Chee-Gong/Gung) is a very ancient Chinese Health and Fitness practise that has been handed down from Teacher to Student, over many years and until recently, it was kept a closely gaurded secret in Chinese culture.
The basic principles of the Art, work on the concept of Bio Energy ( Chi ) which is in all of us. Qigong teaches us to enhance the Chi energy In us, improve the Chi flow throughout the body and mind and thereby make the practitioner healthy, fit and strong. There is a similarity between Qi (Chi) and the Yoga concept of Pranic energy. The Student of Qigong must have an open mind to understand concepts such as Universal Qi energy and ways to gain that energy into ones own being. Persons of sceptical minds may find it hard to digest concepts of the Art of Qigong. At GDSMA, our students learn theory and practical exercises in Qigong, ensuring that the Student grasps a thorough understanding of the theory before practical exercises. Qigong exercises encompass mind, body and spirit, the exercises are designed to enhance the latent Qi in the body, gain universal Qi energy and improve the channels of Qi flow within the mind, body and spirit of the student. Qigong is meant for people of all ages and can even be beneficial for those who are recovering from illnesses.
