Dim mak or 'Death Touch Technique' is an ancient Chinese Science which possibly originated as a side line to the Science of Accupuncture.
The Science of Accupuncture, deals in healing the body through applying pressure/needles to specific areas of the body based on internal meridians and pressure points. According to Acupuncturist & Martial Artist sifu Rajvir, Dim Mak, uses the same principles, but can be used as a form of self defense to attack a powerful opponent's internal system, when all other forms of selfdefense techniques have failed. It is therefore obvious, that the student of Dim Mak must never use the techniques in a frivolous manner and must understand that the techniques are only to be used in extreme situations when all other self defense techniques have been exhausted. In order to learn Dim Mak, it is important to understand Chinese principles of Qi and Qi Flow within the body. Also the concept of 'Jin', which deals with the exact amount of force that needs to be used in a specific situation, has to be thoroughly understood, as excess pressure may bring about undesireable results The student of Dim Mak must first strive to be a good martial artist, become responsible and develop a sense of mindfulness and have the deep realisation that he/she would never abuse the art of Dim Mak for egoistic purposes. At GDSMA, we teach the student of Dim Mak in a logical manner. First, we focus on theory and ensure the student is familiar with all the pressure points and also the directions of Qi flow. Once students are proficient in Theory, we start with practicals ensuring that students practice under the supervision of the Dim Mak Master and ensure that the drills and exact striking points are memorised so that Dim Mak becomes second nature.
